Glad you stopped by to take a peek at my site. While I'm new to blogging, I'm not new to events. Having worked in the industry for years, both as a freelancer and an employee, I'm convinced there's no better job. Now that I'm back to freelance work (in the middle of this endless pandemic), I wanted to take a beat to both work, and write, about the industry.
What can you expect from me and the WEVENT blog? First off, I'm funny. I take my event work and clients very seriously, and I have a great sense of humor. It comes through when I write, and I've decided that's ok. Being funny doesn't make you any less of an expert. Which leads me to point number two. I write as an expert, because I am one. That doesn't mean there's not another way to do a task, or that I'm done learning. The opposite is true, I welcome engagement from readers if they have found a better way to complete a task in the event world, a new technology or want to brainstorm. I hope you'll share. I'm collaborative (one part of freelancing I do find difficult) and hope this community of event planners and managers can share their wealth of knowledge. Lastly, no one has time, so expect easy to read, actionable posts.
